Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) delivery now available!

25th November 2007

By Maria Theresa S. Samante (OFW Guide)
Did you know that there’s an easy way to request for your overseas employment certificate (OEC) without traveling all the way to the POEA (Philippine Overseas Employment Administration) office?
Returning overseas Filipino workers can now enjoy their vacation while without worrying for their OEC.
The POEA Balik-Manggagawa OEC delivery (02)737-7777, which is available even during Sundays and holidays, will cater vacationing OFWs in processing their OEC via phone. This would save much of their time and they can also enjoy their vacation days and at the same time have their OEC processed and delivered right at their door step.
The Balik-Manggagawa OEC delivery service booth is also present at the POEA premises.
You can also request for a copy of your NSO (National Statistics Office) authenticated birth, marriage, death and Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) and even renew your passport without hassle.
The NSO Helpline Plus (02) 737-1111 which started in June 7, 2007 has been catering for Filipinos who wants to have a copy of their birth, marriage and death certificate or even CENOMAR issued by the NSO.
The DFA Passport Direct (02) 7373-1000 accommodates passport renewals hassle free. Passports are processed and delivered anywhere in the country. First time applicant can also avail of the delivery at the DFA so they won’t have to return to claim their passport. For more details visit them online at www.passport.com.ph.
These innovations, where document requests shall be delivered right at the doorstep of the caller, were made possible in partnerships with 2GO. Likewise, these make traffic, long lines, and waiting complications a thing of the past.

You are my pride

25th November 2007

By Dhannabelle V. Mayo

I’ll always bless the day that I met you;
Big thanks to Almighty I’v known someone like you.
Someone who’s always there two arms open,
When I was down and I was at the end.

You cuddle me and make as your own,
You used to check me when I’ve done wrong.
Love, care and understanding is what you’ve brought,
You always share a pleasing thought.

You’ve done so much in improving my life,
Having someone like you is really a PRIDE
I think I am the one really blessed,
‘Coz I’ve got a NANAY who is the best.

Saying Thank You is not enough,
‘Coz what you’ve done for me is too much.
You’re not just a friend but a mother too,
And it’s wonderful having someone like you.

In the eyes of a child

25th November 2007

(Nominated by UN as the best Poem of 2006 - Written by an African Kid)

When I born, I black
When I grow up, I black
When I go in Sun, I black
When I scared, I black
When I sick, I black
And when I die, I still black

And you white fellow

When you born, you pink

When you grow up, you white

When you go in sun, you red

When you cold, you blue

When you scared, you yellow

When you sick, you green

And when you die, you grey

And you calling me colored ??
