DFA, OWWA ASSIST OFW STROKE VICTIM FROM EGYPT

22 August 2006 — Legal Officer Patricia Oliver (2nd L) of the DFA Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (DFA-OUMWA) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Airport Assistance Officer Nestor Burayag (1st R) assist OFW Glena Cacundangan (3rd L) and her accompanying nurse (1st L) upon their arrival at the NAIA-1 at 3:00 p.m. aboard Etihad Airways flight EY427 from Cairo via Abu Dhabi. OFW Cacundangan of Urdaneta, Pangasinan suffered a stroke in Cairo on 11 August 2006 while accompanying her Saudi employers there for a vacation. The Philippine Embassy in Cairo coordinated with OFW Cacundangan’s employers on her hospitalization and eventual return to the Philippines.
